Inferno is a darkly strategic worker placement and soul management game set between the mortal intrigues of 14th-century Florence and the eternal torment of Hell. Players take on the role of powerful Florentine figures manipulating the fates of sinners — guiding lost souls through the nine circles of Hell while balancing influence, corruption, and reputation on Earth. The dual-board design reflects this balance: one half depicts the infernal realms of Dante’s Inferno, while the other captures the political power struggles of Florence itself. Each round is divided into two phases. In the Inferno Phase, players advance souls through the circles of Hell, earning Infamy Points for successfully delivering them to their rightful place. In the Florence Phase, they can perform actions like adopting a street urchin, constructing family towers, or exposing sinners to send their souls below — at a cost. Every exposed sinner brings Dante one step closer to his descent, and when he reaches the gates of Purgatory, the game concludes. The player with the most Infamy Points is crowned the most notorious manipulator — forever untrustworthy in both Heaven and Hell.
